PlugIns? (#2) - Loading modified DTED data (#214) - Message List

I'm trying to modify DTED data to 24 arc second intervals using a program called MicroDEM. But after I save the new resolution DTED file, Falconview complains that it's not valid DTED data. Is there a portion of source code in falconview that I could edit to allow it to load my reduced resolution data? Or is there another option? Possibly besides using MicroDEM?
