GPS Babel
A user recently asked how they could display GPS trails in ESRI as either a .GPX or a SHAPE file.
Since a FalconView .GPS file is just a collection of the NMEA sentences there are many apps that know how to read them.
“GPS Babel” is an open source tool that can take a .GPS file and convert it to GPX (and possibly a shp). In the GPS Babble document, it is called a “NMEA” file. There are probably other easy to use programs to do this but I have not looked around much.
Note: Make sure you are saving as a .gps file and not the binary “.gpb” file. I do not know any other program that can read the “.gpb” files.
